Hourglass Press and the ABPA Speed-dating Fall event!

We had a great time at the American Book Packagers Association 2nd Annual Speed Dating Fall Event! We met many new publishers (new to us, but long in the publishing industry….), and we re-kindled spirits with other publishers who we are developing projects with. The Speed-Dating event gives a packager the chance to present new concepts and ideas to a targeted audience, be they the gems of a manuscript idea or a finished concept in a completed gift box.  With 15 minutes to introduce yourself, your book+ idea and make plans for lunch after Frankfurt, it was just the right amount of time to become acquainted with Baker & Taylor, Dover-Adult, Quirk, Race Point, Readerlink, Rizzoli, Silver Dolphin, St. Martins, Thunder Bay, and Watson-Guptil (only a few of the publishing participants!), all of which proved fascinating and provocative.  We have a lot of work ahead of us, following up with all the great concepts that were flowing in the room that night!  What an honor to attend this terrific event.
